Why Anthropic chose CrowdStrike as a Founding Member for AI Cybersecurity Protection: Industry Analyst Jeff Kagan

Artificial intelligence has existed for decades, but in recent years it has entered a period of rapid growth and transformation. Today, CEOs, senior executives, enterprise customers, consumers and partners are all racing to adopt AI, while grappling with the risks that come with it.

Anthropic has emerged as a leading player in the AI space, consistently leading with innovation and also warning about the security vulnerabilities that can arise from weak links across the AI ecosystem.

CrowdStrike, a global cybersecurity leader, works with organizations to design, deploy, and monitor advanced protection systems. Its role in securing AI environments is becoming increasingly critical as adoption accelerates.

Anthropic develops advanced AI models, while CrowdStrike focuses on securing them. This partnership is exemplified by CrowdStrike’s role as a founding member of Project Glasswing, Anthropic’s initiative to strengthen AI-era security infrastructure.

Anthropic just announced Project Glasswing. This is a new initiative that brings together Amazon Web Services (AWS), Anthropic, Apple, Broadcom, Cisco, CrowdStrike, Google, JPMorganChase, the Linux Foundation, Microsoft, NVIDIA, and Palo Alto Networks in an effort to secure the world’s most critical software.

“I am pleased to see Anthropic and CrowdStrike working closely together on high-level cybersecurity protection,” said Jeff Kagan. “This demonstrates the strong confidence Anthropic executives have in CrowdStrike’s security capabilities.”

Kagan notes that while organizations feel an urgency to adopt AI, they are equally concerned about protecting their systems and data.

“In my conversations with CEOs and senior executives, I see a clear tension,” Kagan said. “There is pressure both to move quickly with AI innovation, and there is also a growing awareness of cybersecurity risks.”

Kagan emphasizes that companies must prioritize security alongside growth.

“I have been advising investors and corporate leaders to devote as much attention to security as they do to AI expansion,” Kagan added. “This is where CrowdStrike provides value for Anthropic and its customers.”

As AI continues to advance, both its opportunities and risks expand. Organizations across every industry are investing billions in AI transformation, while recognizing the need to safeguard sensitive data and operations.

Anthropic’s next-generation AI initiative, Claude Mythos, further highlights this trend. As AI systems become more powerful, the demand for robust cybersecurity increases.

CrowdStrike plays a key role in helping organizations safely accelerate AI adoption within the Anthropic ecosystem.

George Kurtz, co-founder and CEO of CrowdStrike, has emphasized that as companies continue to invest heavily in AI, protecting data and mitigating risk must remain a top priority.

“As AI becomes more capable, the need for stronger and more advanced security grows,” said Kagan. “That is why Anthropic selected CrowdStrike as a founding member of its security coalition supporting Claude Mythos. This was a smart move.”
