Hubbard Dianetics Foundation Highlights Mental Health Resolutions with Global Book-a-thon

Millions around the world began 2026 with resolutions for positive change. The most common resolutions relate to exercise, diet, finances, and mental health. But now, nearly two months into the year, many resolutions have already faded. According to a Forbes Health poll, many resolutions are abandoned by January, and the average resolution lasts only three to four months. The failure rate is so widespread that the second Friday of January has been informally dubbed “Quitter’s Day” after a global fitness-tracking app analyzed the short-lived January uptick in hundreds of millions of users’ activity logs.

With so many people struggling to maintain their resolve, volunteers from Hubbard Dianetics Foundation chapters around the world want people to know that setbacks don’t have to define their 2026 goals. To close out February, Dianetics volunteers in more than 50 countries united to reach out and bring proven, lasting mental health solutions to their communities, answering the global demand for proactive approaches to mental well-being.

Volunteers brought their message to snow-covered streets and city squares in winter capitals throughout the British Isles, the United States, Scandinavia, and across Europe’s cultural centers. Outreach also extended to warmer climates throughout the Southern Hemisphere, from sun-soaked beaches and hotspots in São Paulo to Sydney, and from Quito to Cape Town.

Wearing iconic red Dianetics apparel winter coats in Piccadilly Circus and T-shirts on Sydney’s beaches teams provided free stress tests to tens of thousands of people in more than 250 cities. They also offered the book Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health by L. Ron Hubbard, described as the all-time bestselling book on the human mind.

The word Dianetics is derived from the Greek dia, meaning “through,” and nous, meaning “mind or soul,” and is further defined as “what the mind (or soul) is doing to the body.” The book identifies a single source of stress, anxiety, and unwanted emotions and provides practical tools that readers can apply to address them.

The results of Dianetics inspire those who have experienced it to share the book and its technology. Local volunteer Lauren Thornsberry participated in outreach efforts in Sacramento and shared her experience:

“As I read Dianetics, I relieved pressures and recognized basic truths about my experiences. Dianetics has been a real game changer for me. I gained tremendous clarity that has positively impacted my life in so many ways. Helping share this book with others has been an absolute joy.”

With many in Sacramento seeking a fresh start while the year is still young, Dianetics offers a path to take control of mental health and find relief from stress and anxiety. That path begins with reading the book that 22 million people have turned to for a clearer understanding of the mind.

Each weekend, more than 330 Dianetics centers in 55 countries offer Dianetics Seminars for individuals seeking to improve their mental well-being and begin their journey toward lasting change.
