Set to commence on November 6, 2026, the International Stock Trading Competition (ISTC) brings together financial professionals from 10 major economies in a cross-border investment format. The competition will run from November 6, 2026, to January 6, 2027, and will include representatives from Nigeria, Turkey, France, Pakistan, Canada, India, the United Kingdom, Indonesia, the United States, and Germany. Nigeria’s participation will be represented by Paul Abiagam, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Coronation Merchant Bank.

The event is being organized with an emphasis on compliance with applicable securities-market regulations, exchange rules, and the requirements of relevant governing authorities in the jurisdictions where trading activities may take place. The tournament framework is intended to support transparency, fairness, and consistent evaluation procedures, while participating representatives and their trading activities remain subject to applicable market requirements. The competition aims to create a structured environment for professional exchange, market analysis, and investment evaluation across participating countries.

To support a consistent trading environment, the tournament administration has outlined a capital allocation framework under which each of the 10 participating members is expected to receive access to a stock trading account with a stated allocation of $10,000,000. The availability, funding, and operation of these accounts would be subject to the tournament’s final administrative arrangements, applicable brokerage requirements, and relevant market regulations. During the active competition period, representatives are expected to manage their assigned portfolios across eligible international stock exchanges in accordance with these conditions.

The financial structure of the tournament includes a proposed performance-based profit-sharing model designed to operate within applicable financial-market requirements. According to the framework outlined by the tournament administration, 70% of any generated net trading profits through these market operations is expected to be allocated toward designated national-level financial literacy, education, and economic development programs within each representative’s home country. The remaining 30% would be designated for the participating representative as professional performance-based compensation. Any such distribution would depend on realized net trading profits, the competition’s operating procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.

The competition’s reward framework is designed to recognize consistent operational excellence throughout the November-to-January competition period. On a weekly basis, the tournament administration plans to award a sum of $1,000,000 to the top-performing representative who ranks first in the unified evaluation and achieves a positive public sentiment index rating for that specific period.

This dual-path evaluation model also governs the selection of the ultimate tournament victor. Unlike single-metric contests, the final winner of the ISTC is determined by a system where overall investment returns and cumulative public sentiment scores are tied for the highest priority in the ranking framework. The representative who achieves the top-ranking position under this combined scoring system will receive a cash prize of $5,000,000 along with the title “Global Chief Investment Strategist” and a certificate of honor documenting their performance.

In addition to the financial rewards, the tournament aims to support professional development. All 10 participating analysts are expected to gain access to specialized training resources and advanced educational opportunities throughout the competition period. These resources are designed to support long-term career progression and enhance regulatory literacy, helping to develop financial professionals with broader knowledge of international capital markets.

Throughout the November 6, 2026–January 6, 2027 competition period, observers, market participants, and the general public will be able to follow the tournament through its official digital platform—offering real-time performance rankings, portfolio adjustments, and weekly market sentiment polls.
